It started with six women in a local pub.

In January 2026, six women from Teddington found themselves in the same pub whilst the World Darts Championship final at Ally Pally was being shown on the screens.

We barely knew each other.

None of us had ever played darts before.

But inspired by the final (and aided by a couple of drinks!), we decided then and there to start a women's darts team.

We thought we'd meet up on Wednesdays, throw a few darts and see how it went.

What we didn’t expect was to catch the darts bug. Or, more importantly, to become such good friends.

And it all went from there!

Wednesdays quickly became the highlight of our weeks.

Much to our huge surprise, we started buying our own darts. Booking coaching sessions. Making plans to watch professional tournaments!

But we also started meeting regularly outside of practice sessions, going away together at weekends, and becoming a valuable local support network for each other.

We realised we'd stumbled across something that lots of women are looking for: a regular reason to get out, meet likeminded people, learn something new, and feel part of a community.

So we decided to share it.

What TWADL is really all about.

We're not another competitive darts league.

It isn’t even really about darts!

We're creating something women genuinely want to belong to.

TWADL is a low pressure, convenient and fun way for women to get involved in a regular social activity, and to become part of a friendly local community.

You don't need to have played darts before, you don't need to know anyone else and you definitely don't need to take it seriously!

Each TWADL team meets weekly at a wonderful neighbourhood pub for a bit of darts, a lot of laughs and plenty of chat. The darts give everyone something fun to do together, while the social side is what keeps people coming back.

And we're only just getting started.

We're building a network of beginner-friendly women's social darts teams, one local pub at a time.

Our ambition is simple: to make women's social darts a familiar part of community life across the UK.

Want to join us?

We're always ready to welcome more women who are up for having a laugh and trying something new.

No experience needed and no need to come with a friend!
